Description

These awesome magic slider cards will "wow" your friends and family. When closed, you see a black and white graphic. When the tab is pulled, the slider moves to reveal the colored graphic beneath. You'll need printable transparencies to make these cards. You'll also want watch Lori's "Magic Slider Card" assembly video below to learn how to assemble these cute cards! The finished card measures 3.5x4.75 when complete. Note: I recommend printing the transparency film piece and hand cutting for simplicity. PDF for printable pieces included. I used 100# White Cardstock and this Canon Printer (handles heavy cardstock beautifully).

    Unicorn Magic Slider Card

Posted by Debra Lewis on Nov 21st 2022

My granddaughter loved this card and it turned out great! However, of all the cards I’ve purchased from this shop, I had the most difficulty with this one. It was suggested that the transparency be printed on the printer and then cut out by hand. The tutorial mentions that a person can fit 8 on a 8 1/2 x 11 transparency sheet. However, no explanation was given as to how to do that since the included pdf only shows one transparency & one color sheet. I had also purchased the magic slider Christmas Tree card and was finally able to get 3 Trees & 1 Unicorn on a sheet in order to print those prior to making the cards. However, in doing that, I also had to make sure that I had the measurements correct in order for them to line up correctly with the color print & cut sheet. I did manage to figure out how to do it, but additional instructions in the tutorial for doing that would have been helpful. One other item. It may be because I was using Cricut Design Space instead of Silhouette, but the 2 “U” shaped pieces were joined together & showed as cutting together.I couldn’t see a way to separate them into two separate pieces (neither unattach nor ungroup seemed to work). I finally duplicated the piece, then used “contour” to end up with two separate “U” cuts. All of that being said, the card is really cute and was well worth the extra effort (which may have more to do with my not understanding how to do the printing parts prior to completing the card in Design Space) to see the amazement on my granddaughter’s face.
